Within the array are four SATA III drive bays that can each house a single 3.5 or 2.5" drive using the included drive brackets. Each drive bay has a 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" hard drive. The array is software-configured as RAID 5, which provides a good balance of performance and redundancy. It can be configured as RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 4, and 5, each of which provides performance, data redundancy, or both.

This volume will be recognized on systems running macOS 10.6 and later as well as Windows 7 and later. Connectivity to your host system is achieved using an integrated 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables are included to help ensure compatibility with modern and legacy systems. To help ensure a smooth operating environment, the array is built using heat-dissipating aluminum, uses a cooling fan, and its included 100-240 VAC power supply runs at 50/60 Hz to help ensure worldwide compatibility. Also included is a power cable and two front panel keys.

SoftRAID XT works with macOS 10.14 or later and Windows 10 or later. M1+ Macs require macOS 11.3 or later and SoftRAID is licensed per computer. The SoftRAID serial number will work with both Mac and Windows but can only be active on one computer at a time. Additional seats can be purchased. RAID 4 and 1+0 (10) are currently Mac only at this time.

The Mercury Elite Pro Quad's powerful USB-C interface delivers USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) bandwidth and works with almost any USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 equipped Mac or Windows PC. Simply connect the Mercury Elite Pro Quad via the included USB-C cable to experience next-level performance. If your computer doesn't feature USB-C connectivity, the included USB-C to USB-A cable brings backward compatibility for machines with legacy USB ports.
