MelroseMAC has already sold hundreds of the new Mac Pro, and we’ve been polling our customers for feedback on the units, their configurations, speed, likes, dislikes….
The results are still rolling in, but month one tell us that our Audiophiles love the full 12 core units with upgraded RAM, but since they are audio folks, they don’t worry about the graphics as much (naturally).
A few of our audio customers opted for the 8 core unit instead, with upgraded RAM and standard graphics, and it faired just fine for their needs.
The 6 core Mac Pro proves to be an excellent machine for business: it is flawless as a desktop machine, and works well as a render farm, or a host server (replaces the Mac Mini in this respect, and packs a punch!)
As usual, the creative entertainment industry wants and needs it all – broadcasters, VFX, animation and editorial focused on the more expensive 12 core systems, with up to 64GB of RAM and upgraded dual, FirePro video graphics cards.
