Did you buy an Apple iMac between May 2011 and October 2012?

Apple has issued a recall on iMac computers purchased in that time frame due to a problem with the AMD Radeon Video Card (HD 6970).

Good news: MelroseMAC can replace the video card free of charge, up to three years after the purchase date.  You don’t event have to be sure your video card has an issue – bring your computer in and we’ll check it for you.

Here are the details of potentially affected machines:

27-inch iMac with 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
or
27-inch iMac with 3.1GHZ quad-core Intel Core i7
with
AMD Radeon HD 6970M video card

Here are some issues you may have noticed already:

  • Graphical distortion
  • White or blue vertical lines on your screen
  • No video – cutting in and out

You can stop by either of our locations (Hollywood, Burbank).  No appointment necessary – just drop by with your machine.
