Like you didn’t know this, but Apple came out with a ton of really cool announcements today - along with the new iPad Mini, two new models of the Mac Mini, a stunning update to the iMac, and even a new iPad, we have a brand new smaller, sleeker, faster Retina Display MacBook Pro! Starting with this new MacBook Pro, the new Apple MacBook Pro and Mac Pro products will come with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 pre-installed, and will not be backwards compatible. So, while now you can install an older OS X to keep your FCP7 workflow rolling along, as you upgrade your hardware, that just won’t be possible. You as Final Cut Pro 7 user would need to upgrade your application to Final Cut X or a new nonlinear editor.
