APPLE GIVES THE IMACS A REFRESH: SEE WHAT'S NEW

This year, Apple made some major announcements about its product lines getting updates. It looks like changes that many fans of the company have been waiting for are being put into place, including a whole new iMac Pro line to go along with refreshed classic and 5K iMac builds, new Macbooks, and more. iMac Updates for the 21.5 Inch Display

The 21.5 inch entry level display for the new iMac will have a $1,099 price point, positioning it well within the marketplace for entry level devices. Its hardware updates include:

  • Updated Intel Iris 640 integrated graphics with performance 80 percent above the previous build
  • Up to 32GB RAM
  • Options to upgrade to a Radeon 555 or 560 with the 4K version
  • 7th generation Kaby Lake processors

The 4K version of the 21.5 inch iMac starts at $1,299.

Updates for the 27 Inch Display

The 5K, 27 inch version of the iMac has three options for Radeon graphics cards: the 570, 575, or 580. All of them have up to 8GB of VRAM, and they all boast up to 5.5 teraflops of computing power, in addition to the 7th generation processors and RAM options discussed above. These models start at $1,799.

iMac Pro

Last but not least, the $4,999 iMac Pro offering includes the 5K screen impressive Radeon graphics with up to 16GB VRAM, up to 128GB EEC RAM, and 5 terabyte storage in addition to its workstation-grade Xeon processor with either 8 or 18 cores, depending on the build.
